Pulley splints/supports are meant for grade III-IVa pulley injuries (which involve one or more complete ruptures). They are unnecessary for more minor pulley injuries and should not be used for non-pulley-related pain or undiagnosed finger pain.
For grade IVb injuries (complete tear of A2, A3, and A4 pulleys), advice from a skilled medical practitioner is required and as such use of pulley support should be guided by them. If you are unsure whether a pulley support is right for you, seek guidance from a qualified practitioner.
